Black Eyed Peas’ Peapod Foundation to Host Concert

by Lynn on January 17th, 2008

The Peapod FoundationThe Black Eyed Peas’ Peapod Foundation will be performing in the fourth annual Peapod Foundation Benefit Concert at the Avalon in Hollywood on February 7. The concert will be a fund-raiser for the Peapod Music and Arts Academy that opened its doors earlier this month at the Watts/Willowbrook Boys & Girls Club. The academy offers a year-round after-school and weekend program for about 50 kids living in foster care. The facility features state-of-the-art audio and video equipment as well as dance instruction. It’s designed to help kids pursue careers in the entertainment business.

The academy is funded by the Black Eyed Peas’ Peapod Foundation, which is administered by the Entertainment Industry Foundation. The group’s goal is to expand the academy program to other cities around the country.

Hats off to Fergie and the rest of the Black Eyed Peas for getting involved in such a worthy cause! I’ll post more information as it’s released.
